La OPEP+ extiende los recortes de producción de petróleo

Los de la Organización de Países Exportadores de Petróleo Plus (OPEP+) acordaron el domingo prorrogar los recortes voluntarios de producción de petróleo hasta el segundo trimestre de 2024, informa Reuters.

Los recortes acordados ascienden a un total aproximado de 2 millones de barriles por día (bpd) y se prolongarán hasta finales de junio. Sin embargo, los de la organización anuncian recortes de forma individual, señala la agencia. Así, Arabia Saudita —líder de facto de la OPEP— afirmó que ampliaría su recorte voluntario de 1 millón de barriles diarios, Irak 220.000 bpd, Emiratos Árabes Unidos 163.000 bpd y Kuwait 135.000 bpd.

Rusia, por su parte, reducirá la producción y las exportaciones de petróleo en 471.000 bpd en el segundo trimestre de 2024, según el viceprimer ministro ruso Alexánder Nóvak. En abril, la reducción de la producción ascenderá a 350.000 bpd y las exportaciones a 121.000 bpd. En mayo, los recortes de producción ascenderán a 400.000 bpd, las exportaciones a 71.000 bpd. En junio, el recorte de la producción ascenderá a 471.000 bpd. Rusia tiene previsto restablecer gradualmente los recortes adicionales de producción y exportación de petróleo en el futuro, en función de las condiciones del mercado, señaló este domingo el alto funcionario.

"Este recorte voluntario de la producción se suma al recorte voluntario de 500.000 bpd anunciado anteriormente por Rusia en abril de 2023, que durará hasta finales de diciembre de 2024", agregó.
