Un emblema de Stepán Bandera sobre blindados donados a Kiev indigna a Polonia

"Es una provocación que no tiene cabida", escribió en X el ministro polaco de Defensa al ver las imágenes de una columna de vehículos de transporte de personal de fabricación polaca con una bandera del controvertido líder nacionalista ucraniano.

Las autoridades de Polonia no han pasado por alto un video publicado recientemente en la plataforma X en el que una columna de blindados Rosomak donados a las Fuerzas Armadas de Ucrania avanza con una bandera del Ejército Insurgente Ucraniano (UPA), fuerza clandestina liderada por Stepán Bandera que asesinó a polacos que vivían en las zonas fronterizas y las montañas de Bieszczady durante y después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, recuerdan medios polacos.

En lugar de la correspondiente insignia nacional, uno de estos vehículos de transporte de personal llevaba la bandera roja y negra de aquella fuerza insurgente, conocido símbolo de los partidarios y seguidores de Stepán Bandera, tanto en el pasado como en el presente, lo que indignó a Varsovia.

Las banderas de la UPA en los vehículos blindados Rosomak entregados por Polonia al Ejército ucraniano son "una provocación que no tiene cabida", afirmó en X el viceprimer ministro y jefe del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, en un comentario al polémico video. Asimismo, añadió que ha pedido explicaciones de forma urgente al agregado ucraniano en Varsovia "para aclarar el asunto".

El principal partido opositor de Polonia, Ley y Justicia (conservadores), presentó a comienzos de diciembre un proyecto de ley en la cámara baja del Parlamento con la intención de prohibir la difusión de símbolos de Bandera por colaborar con las tropas nazis de Adolf Hitler y justificar el genocidio de Volinia, cometido contra la población polaca por los nacionalistas ucranianos en 1943.
