El presidente del Gobierno español afianzó lazos con Vietnam, un país duramente golpeado por los aranceles de EE.UU.

El presidente del Gobierno de España, Pedro Sánchez, ha abogado por las relaciones de libre comercio y por la apertura económica entre los países en lugar de las políticas de proteccionismo y guerras comerciales en las que no hay ganadores.

"España apuesta por un orden internacional basado en reglas, por el libre comercio y por la apertura económica, y considera que las guerras comerciales no benefician a nadie, sino que perjudican a todos", afirmó Sánchez este miércoles desde Hanói durante la declaración conjunta con el primer ministro de Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh.

Al inicio de la reunión, el presidente del Gobierno español subrayó que el libre comercio permite fomentar "el desarrollo y la prosperidad" de los pueblos. "A nadie le interesa una guerra comercial, nadie gana con las guerras comerciales. Todos los países perdemos, y sobre todo quien pierde son los trabajadores y la clase media de nuestras sociedades", concluyó.

Durante su visita al país asiático, Sánchez afianzó lazos con el Gobierno vietnamita firmando una declaración conjunta para "elevar la relación bilateral a una relación estratégica integral". También suscribió los acuerdos bilaterales para impulsar la cooperación en consultas políticas, relaciones diplomáticas y sectores como seguridad alimentaria, sanidad animal y vegetal y la pesca.

El viaje de Sánchez a Vietnam marca la primera vez que un presidente del Gobierno español visita este país de manera oficial. La gira, emprendida en medio de la guerra arancelaria desatada por Donald Trump, incluye la visita a China, gravada con aranceles del 104 %.

Vietnam también sufrió un duro golpe de las políticas estadounidenses: la semana pasada Trump anunció la imposición de los aranceles del 46 % contra la nación. Las autoridades vietnamitas pidieron aplazar su implementación por 45 días, mientras negocian con la Casa Blanca un acuerdo que permita levantarlos.
