El presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump, arremetió este lunes contra el gobernador de California, Gavin Newsom, y la alcaldesa de Los Ángeles, Karen Bass, y defendió su decisión de desplegar la Guardia Nacional en medio de violentas protestas de varias días en Los Ángeles y otras ciudades de California.

"Tomamos una gran decisión al enviar a la Guardia Nacional para hacer frente a los violentos disturbios instigados en California. Si no lo hubiéramos hecho, Los Ángeles habría sido completamente arrasada", aseguró.

El líder estadounidense indicó que Newsom y Bass son "incompetentes" y afirmó que deberían estar diciendo: "Gracias presidente Trump, usted es tan maravilloso. Seríamos nada sin usted, señor". Sin embargo, ambos eligieron "mentir al pueblo de California y EE.UU.", declarando que no necesitaban la ayuda federal para dispersar las protestas y asegurando que estas son "protestas pacíficas", manifestó Trump.

En las imágenes desde el lugar se observa cómo los participantes en los disturbios incendiaron numerosos vehículos, mientras también se reportan casos de saqueos.

Cabe destacar que las unidades de la Guardia Nacional de EE.UU. empezaron a llegar el domingo a Los Ángeles, tras dos jornadas de desmanes que azotaron la ciudad a raíz de redadas migratorias.
